The Bloomington Normal Officials Association and Heartland Volleyball Officials Association will join forces to provide a Level 2 Volleyball Clinic August 13, 2025 at Central Catholic High School in Bloomington. See the attached flyer for more details.
BNOA GOLF OUTING
Dear Fellow Officials,
The BNOA will be having a Golf Outing on Sunday, July 27th 2025 @ Ironwood Golf Course. Tee times start at 9:00 am, and is limited to the first 32 golfers. This will be a 4 person team, 18-hole scramble/best ball Tournament. Cost is greenfees and cart, with a $5.00 per player ($20.00 per team) for payout for the 1st & 2nd place teams. Upcoming BNOA Clinics
The BNOA will be hosting basketball and football clinics this summer. The basketball clinic will be held in conjunction with the IBOA at the Bismarck-Henning HS shootout on June 28. Volleyball Rules for 2025-2026
The NFHS has released rules changes for 2025-2026 recently. Please note, these rule changes are for next school year. Rules that have been used this season are still applicable.
A major rule change is multiple contacts on second contact when next contact is by a teammate. This is the rule the NCAA/PAVO currently uses. Please, do not use this rule for the current Jr. High season, this ruke takes effect in August. We will discuss other rukes changes as the 2025-2026 season approaches.

Presented in the memory of Rory Hodgson to the less experienced official who best exemplifies the ideals of sports officiating, and who has worked to gain experience and knowledge necessary to advance in his/her officiating career.
Presented in the memory of Allan Russell to the BNOA official who did the most in promoting the ideals of sports officiating, and the development of young officials.
"Friends of the BNOA" - Award to individuals outside of officiating to be honored with the recognition they deserve for helping advance officiating, retain sports officials, and promote sports in general.
The Kevin Mallehan Scholarship Was Started In 2013 By The BNOA Executive Board In Honor Of Lifelong BNOA Member & IHSA Umpire Kevin Mallehan. This Scholarship Will Be Awarded Each Year , With The Recipient Being Recognized At The Annual Hall Of Fame Banquet. The Recipient Of The Scholarship Shall Be An Official In Good Standing With The BNOA Or An Organization Recognized By The BNOA Executive Board . The Application Period Shall Run From August 1st Thru March 1st Each Calendar Year. All Applications And Monetary Awards Will Be Reviewed By The Present BNOA Board Of Directors.
